This is a SHIPBOARD role.

Applicants must:

  • Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
  • Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
  • Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
  • Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
  • Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
  • Be willing to be appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment
  • Be comfortable living in a confined space with strict rules and regulations
  • Adhere to a structured lifestyle, personally and professionally

Your Responsibilities:

  • Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
  • Complete a pre-employment medical
  • Obtain a criminal background check
  • Bring approved work shoes

**Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.



  • Minimum three years professional experience in a Broadcasting position
  • Minimum trade school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven professional experience in broadcast or video production, preference given to previous shipboard experience in similar role
  • Experience with remotely operated cameras
  • Experience and understanding of video compression codecs and implementation
  • Experience with digital video signals, including HDSDI
  • Understanding of computer networks and HTML
  • Experience with digital signage systems preferred
  • Professional camera operation for ENG style content acquisition
  • Expertise with professional broadcasting equipment, including experience with video cameras, VTR and editing systems. Adobe after effects and Apple Final Cut Pro software experience is essential
  • Good experience with motion graphic design especially Adobe After Effects, Illustrator and Photoshop with strong PC & Mac computer skills
  • Cinema 4D software experience desired
  • Video camera operation and lighting for TV recommended
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking systems
  • Experience with Grass Valley Kayak DD Vision Mixer
  • Experience with Motion
  • Experience with DVD Studio
  • Experience with Livetype
  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be able to speak, read and write fluent English
  • Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
  • Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
  • Be able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines
  • Enjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environment

  • Camera Operation (single and multi remote cameras) for all required live and as-live shows and performances
  • Direction / Vision Mixing for live shows and performances
  • Video Production, Editing and Post Production of all required original programming and content creation
  • MPEG Encoding of all material for archive and transmission
  • Acquiring and editing of all video footage, including broadcast design motion graphics creation
  • Assist with the engineering and operation of camera, VTR, transmission systems and live multi-camera vision mixing
  • Assist with the programming and maintenance of the automated scheduling and video server playback systems
  • Maintain show integrity, standards of conduct and quality levels of all broadcast and projection operations
  • Provide any required support and content creation for onboard special events and productions
  • Attend to the preventative maintenance and routine repair of all Broadcast and Projection Equipment
  • Assist with other departmental duties including load-ins and outs, equipment testing, vendor support, cast changeovers, movie premieres and corporate events
  • VT Operation for recording, dubbing and transmission
  • DVD mastering and duplication
