This is a remote position.

Markham is a fast-paced event consulting firm serving progressive political groups, Fortune 500 companies, associations, and nonprofit foundations from around the world. Our Graphic Design Team is seeking a well-organized, motivated intern with experience in graphic design programs and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. This Graphic Design Internship position is virtual/remote and is based in our Washington, DC office with opportunities for in-person event experience.





JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of the Graphic Design Team, this intern will work in coordination with multiple teams throughout Markham on various projects under the direct supervision of the graphic design team. Responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:



  • Researching and sourcing design materials


  • Helping create designs, logos, and branding for event materials


  • Helping create mock-ups of merchandise and renderings of event displays


  • Helping coordinate timelines and deadlines as needed






QUALIFICATIONS

Interest in political work and event design

Experience using:



  • Adobe Suite



    • Proficient in: Photoshop, Illustrator


    • Familiarity with: InDesign, After Effects, Premiere Pro



  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)


  • Keynote


  • Google (Docs, Slides, and Sheets)


Attention to detail

Great organization skills

Excellent interpersonal skills

Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Ability to work well under minimal supervision

Ability to work on multiple projects at one time in an efficient manner

Ability to work in a fast pace environment

Available to work overtime and weekends





COMPENSATIONĀ 

This is a paid, part-time internship with the opportunity to pick up more hours outside business hours and on the weekends. $17 per hour.

The application period for the Summer 2023 graphic design internship is now open, and we are reviewing applications on a rolling basis. The dates of the Summer internship will begin in mid-May and will end late August, with some flexibility. While most of the work will be virtual/remote, applicants will need to be based on the East Coast or able to work East Coast hours.
