This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Graphic Design and Motion Graphics Coordinator who will be all-in on our mission and who will be responsible for all of the station’s graphic design needs as well as creating motion graphics packages for a variety of visually driven projects. 


Qualifications


EDUCATION
Required: Associate Degree in graphic design.
 
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in graphic design.
 
EXPERIENCE
Required: Three (3) years of experience creating and managing artwork for a brand or an agency. 
 
Preferred: Over five (5) years of experience in Higher Ed marketing and design.


Job Duties & Responsibilities


  • Develop visually engaging graphics for web, print, video, and social media. 
  • Maintain a consistent aesthetic and alignment with brand and campaign standards.
  • Use technical/creative/artistic graphic design and photography to create materials to support marketing efforts.
  • Use visual solutions to translate complex information into easily understandable materials.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the College to understand project requirements and ensure designs meet their objectives.
  • Work with printers and vendors to ensure high-quality output and on-time delivery of promotional materials.
  • Manage project timelines and communicate status updates to stakeholders and team members.
  • Create and maintain a design templates and assets for use across the College.
  • Perform other work-related duties as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities


  • Superior graphic design skills with a consistent eye for aesthetics and detail. 
  • Knowledge of professional design software (Adobe Suite). 
  • Ability to work well independently and collaboratively. 
  • Ability to maintain a deep understanding of current design trends and best practices and incorporate them into your work.
  • Strong copy writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented problem solver. 
  • Ability to efficiently manage many diverse projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of technical aspects of web design and strategies for conceptualizing the interactive flow of website art and copy preferred. 
  • Commitment to discretion and confidentiality concerning sensitive information at all times. 

Salary: Pay grade 8 Amarillo College Salary Schedule (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed. 
 
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.) 
 
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
