What you’ll be doing  

  

CIBC Investor’s Edge UX team is a cross-disciplinary team of UI Designers, UX Designers, Researchers and Content Specialists, responsible for creating intuitive, engaging digital experiences for our clients. We collaborate closely to optimize our online and mobile properties, and as part of the UI team, you will be responsible for providing modern, visually stunning, and highly usable UI experiences and creative solutions. In this role, you will work closely with other UI designers and will collaborate with UX, Editorial, Product and Technology.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. 

Important information

  • You are enrolled in a post-secondary program in UI Design, UX Design, Interaction Design, or a related field at the time of the work term, with a graduation of December 2025 for later.

  • Please include your resume (no more than 2 pages), a cover letter (no more than 1 page), and your most recent unofficial transcript with your application. A portfolio showcasing work samples, inclusive of unique and original designs is an asset.

  • Work Location: Toronto. 

  • Duration of Work Term: 8 months (January 2025 – August 2025).

How you’ll succeed

  • UI Design - Create high fidelity UI screens and components that align with the UI kit (design system), product’s experience goals, usability and accessibility standards, as well as brand guideline.

  • Production Delivery -  Ready specs and follow the work through to implementation, you’ll be working collaboratively with key team members from various disciplines (e.g. editorial content, business analysis/product, development & quality assurance) within an agile/iterative design & development environment where timely delivery of design deliverables is critical.

  • Creativity - Use your creative thinking skill to to develop innovative and new solutions. Create protypes and presentation decks to share ideas and flows to peers and stakeholders.

  • Communication - Excellent verbal and written communication skills will be put to use to allow successful collaboration while working remotely in a team.

  • Time Management - Manage multiple concurrent objectives, project, groups and activities, while prioritizing and allocating time effectively.

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate experience in or knowledge of Figma, and Microsoft Office tools. Working close knowledge (CSS, HTML) is an asset.
