About the role:


We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager to join our team in Queensland. This role engages you in vital Queensland projects, including water management, road and rail infrastructure enhancements, dam construction, and the shift towards sustainable energy, where your contributions will directly influence their success and development.


As a Senior Design Manager, you will maximise opportunities and returns for Seymour Whyte through effective design management during submission preparation and project delivery as well as the identification, selection, procurement and management of designers for specific opportunities within the relevant region.


The successful applicant will have the following skills and experience:



  • A Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Civil), Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent Civil Engineering qualification, which is an acceptable qualification under the Queensland Professional Engineers Act.

  • Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) or Chartered Professional Engineer status (CPEng) is advantageous.

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in design and civil construction infrastructure projects for State or Federal government clients.

  • Demonstrated experience managing design processes during the tender and/or project delivery phase.

  • Knowledge of the estimation process to enable value-add contributions to tenders, EOIs, etc.

  • Superior communication, relationship management, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
