Key job responsibilities
You'll own the customer experience for small to large features within the AWS Database Migration Service (DMS) org. As a Senior UX designer for AWS DMS, you'll drive cross-functional collaboration, engage our internal and external users, and design best of breed experiences for thousands of users across the world. You'll think big and drive innovation, finding opportunities to mold the future of DMS and AWS Database services, as well as provide mentorship and guidance for other designers on the team.
A day in the life
Working closely with your cross-functional partners and fellow Databases UX team members, you will design for high visibility projects that have high complexity problems. You'll build new features 0 - 1 and lead conversations on behalf of our customers. You'll plan and conduct design thinking workshops that bring together partners and stakeholders from across DMS as well as Databases UX.
About the team
We are a highly focused design team, dedicated to the UX design of AWS Databases. Our portfolio includes DMS, RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, QLDB, Keyspaces and Timestream. We support the AWS Database initiatives, work on team and personal growth goals and contribute to the AWS UX design organization. The team is a mix of experienced Amazonians and new members with startup and enterprise backgrounds.
- 6+ years of design experience
- Have an available online portfolio
- Knowledge of usability principles and techniques
- Experience applying scrum to visual or UX design processes
- Experience with UX design of complex workflows
- Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps
- Experience in delivering design solutions for projects of large scope and complexity
- Experience working with stakeholders to plan and execute programs that are strategic in nature
- Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $127,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $211,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
