Consultant, UX/UI Designer

Trissential is seeking a Consultant, UX/UI Designer to join our client team with occasional onsite work in Minneapolis, MN. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented designer with a strong understanding of design systems and UI patterns, who excels at translating high-level design concepts into detailed development specifications. They are passionate about creating user-friendly interfaces, thrive in collaborative environments, and have a meticulous approach to ensuring consistency, usability, accessibility, and quality across digital products. The ideal candidate also demonstrates excellent communication, client relationship management, and problem-solving skills. This role is open only to candidates authorized to work and reside in the US.

• Collaborate with senior designers, product owners, and scrum masters to understand feature requirements and delivery timelines
• Translate high-level design concepts into detailed development specifications, including documentation for edge cases and empty/error states
• Utilize layers, assets, design systems, and UI patterns to create consistent and scalable design solutions
• Ensure all design work aligns with best practices for usability, accessibility, and responsive design
• Work closely with developers to ensure accurate implementation of design specifications
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve design practices
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and provide design solutions that meet their requirements
• Manage client relationships and expectations throughout the design process
• Identify and solve design-related problems proactively

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
• Proven experience in UI/UX design
• Strong understanding of design systems and UI patterns
• Familiarity with accessibility standards and best practices
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills
• Strong skills in client communication, relationship management, and problem-solving

• Proficiency in design software such as Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma, or similar
• Strong attention to detail and ability to document design specifications clearly
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
• Knowledge of usability and accessibility best practices
• Understanding of responsive design principles
• Effective communication and client relationship management
• Proactive problem-solving abilities

• Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with agile methodologies
• Experience conducting user research and usability testing

• 2+ years of experience in a UI/UX design role
• Experience working with design systems and creating development specifications
• Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

Trissential offers a competitive compensation package for full time roles. The pay range for this role is $100,000 to $111,000 annually depending on candidate's qualifications and experience. This role is eligible for benefits and includes options for medical, dental, vision, and tele-health benefits; Health Savings Account with company contribution; 3 weeks PTO, and 401k retirement savings.
