The End User Experience Manager serves as a technical application liaison between the Product Managers, the Electrical Distribution Channel and End Users.  They will provide technical application support to the field sales team and customers as needed.  The End User Experience Manager will assist the Product team with qualitative user research, such as identifying initial pain points and jobs to be done.   Using their vast jobsite experience, they will consult with our creative teams to provide a sense of realism and believability in our marketing assets such as application photography, how to instructional videos, and sizzle videos.  They may also serve as the initial voice of the customer to assist in brainstorming activities to speed up early-stage product development.









Responsibilities






Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Field Support Engineer Activities
    • Field application support for our products. Assist customers with complex application-based questions that our Product Managers will struggle with answering quickly.
    • Provide technical product training for new team members, assist with BIG STIC training.
    • Develop and provide training when necessary to support new product launches (live, video/virtual, presentation voiceover, etc)
  • UX specialist
    • Internal resource to work with Product and Engineering team to bounce ideas off and brainstorm with to create a bank of potential end user pain points.
    • Bring the customer’s view to all discussions (VOC expert)
  • Jobsite support.
    • Go with the Product and Engineering teams to jobsites as a respected source to visit end users and see unique applications. Get field info on new product concepts that are in development and help document user needs and help translate those to products in the “Jobs to be done” framework.
  • Channel and Sales support.
    • Trade show demonstrations
    • Attend trade shows and industry events to stay up to date on industry activity and trends.
    • Maintain consistent interactions with distribution partners, training centers, contractors, end users, and IDEAL field sales teams for information gathering related to new products, merchandising, packaging, communication, & needed positioning of our products.
    • Line Review Product demo(s) and being the technical voice to help explain why the end user would purchase the product from customer X
  • Content & Brand Support
    • Participating in new and existing product photo shoot coordination and execution
    • Enhance jobsite realism while the team creates digital assets for print and web utilization including videos, tutorials, posters/flyers, action images, and other (images, videos, tutorials for digital utilization)
    • Support new product packaging design and updates with key VOC
    • National Championship support
    • Engaging with Champions Club and social media influencers / ambassadors








Qualifications






Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • In depth application knowledge of IDEAL’s core categories (wire termination, hand tools, fish tapes, benders, and Test and Measure equipment)
  • 10+ years’ experience working in the Electrical trade.
  • Access to commercial and residential jobsites through previous relationships
  • Ability to present, take direction, and perform technical tasks in front of a live audience or video professionals.
  • Some travel to customer sites or trade show events will be required.
