Job Description


Seeking to hire a Game Designer that has 5 years of professional Game Design experience.


This is a Contract position (NOT seeing a C2C).


100% remote is an option for this role.


Must be located in the USA. 






This person should have experience planning and defining all elements and components of an electronic game including setting, structure, rules, story flow, interface design, and modes of play within the constraints of time and budget.




Conveys vision and wins approval of concept through a prototype version of the game using help from programmers, producers and others.


Creates required design documentation to support full production.


Adjusts original game specifications based on technical constraints.


Provides oversight and leadership to the team of artists, animators, and programmers who build out the final product; ensures full understanding of the original concept and vision.




Requirement:


We are seeking someone that has shipped a AAA game in a writer role.


5+ years of professional Game Design experience.




Responsibilities:


Works with Creative Director, story team, and other production members to develop characters, plot, and key storytelling moments


• Writes scripts for games with emphasis on complete description of scenes and characters (camera moves, facial expressions, sets, lighting, etc.)


• Writes scripts for real-time and cinematics sequences, and coordinates with various groups to get them implemented


• Participates in writer’s room sessions for brainstorming, story development, and narrative problem solving.


• Regularly reviews scripts by other writers and gives thoughtful feedback.


• Provides notes and feedback to other production departments to shape and hone the expression of story


• Responds to notes from and works closely with brand and publishing partners to achieve story goals


• Writes a variety of dialogue for AI and emergent gameplay events


• Works closely with the production team to create and implement in-game moments to reinforce the story arc


• Writes game trailers and other extraneous projects as necessary (examples: marketing pieces, web content, etc.)


• Assists in writing all text and dialogue in game (menus, descriptions, etc.)


• Maintains schedule and scope during various stages of production


• Demonstrates an understanding of resource limitations and works closely with other production departments to find elegant


solutions to complex story problems
