Introduction

A vacancy exists in the Marketing department of Bravo Brands Manufacturing in the Sleep Division - Johannesburg, for the following position: Graphic Designer


 


KEY OBJECTIVES (JOB/WHY DOES THE POSITION EXIST?)


Responsible for creating visually compelling products that effectively communicate key messages or information. This role focusses on branding, layout and design composition principles. It requires familiarity with project management tools, collaboration platforms, and a basic understanding of digital marketing and social media trends. The graphic designer will design and produce layouts for visual communication across various media formats, including print, television, electronic media and packaging. This role involves prioritizing, tracking and maintaining records of project elements and timelines for multiple projects simultaneously.


Duties & Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with clients or managers to assess project requirements and prepare illustrations or rough sketches accordingly

  • Edit layout photographs, consulting relevant resources for planning, determining the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, and selecting appropriate style and size of type

  • Create and design assets, ensuring alignment with brand’s corporate identity (CI) 

  • Manage projects from conception to final execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met 

  • Develop product related marketing materials, training content and retail support elements

  • Collaborate with the sales team to create and adapt assets for retail campaigns that align with strategic objectives

  • Independently gather relevant information and develop comprehensive briefing documents for each project through the coordination with marketing, sales, and product development teams to ensure designs are aligned with broader company goals 

  • Organize and manage artwork files to streamline the design process and ensure timely delivery of assets

  • Focus on delivering clear, impactful creative messages that resonate with the target audience using data or user insights to inform design choices, especially if designs will be used in marketing campaigns or customer-facing content

  • Maintain accurate records of all files and design elements throughout the project lifecycle


Desired Experience & Qualification


  • Grade 12 / Matric is essential 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification related to Graphic Art Design or Visual Communication 

  • Design Software expertise - Proficiency in industry-standard graphic design software like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or similar tools is essential 

  • Project management tools to support the emphasis on project management skills and maintaining project timelines advantageous

  • Digital marketing and social media trends, familiarity with tools like Canva, will be valuable for creating and managing content across platforms

  • Knowledge and experience with video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects will advantageous

  • MS Office proficient, particularly on MS Outlook, Word and advance Excel 

  • Min 3 years' relevant working experience in a market related environment
