We are looking for an experienced and passionate Lead Technical Artist with AAA experience to drive our TechArt Team and be part of our new, ambitious, and exciting AAA project of a world-famous IP made in Unreal Engine 5.

Flying Wild Hog, a leading game development studio, is looking for a talented Lead Technical Artist to join our team and help bring our games to life in Unreal Engine 5.
As a Lead Technical Artist at Flying Wild Hog, you will pave the way in assisting Art teams and Tech teams in elevating the artistic vision to new heights.


  • Provide leadership and mentorship to the technical art team, assisting and setting the Technical Art Direction in collaboration with the Studio Technical Art Director.

  • Identify and communicate effectively potential project risks to other leads, directors, and management.

  • Act as a key resource in technical art, art processes and production, lighting and other TechArt adjacent disciplines. 

  • Stay updated with industry trends, guiding R&D, and helping pipeline team to deliver for the TechArt and Art teams. 

  • Design and implement pipeline procedures and collaborate on innovations in art production.

  • With the help of the Art teams, develop efficient art production processes, ensuring a balance between creativity and technical constraints. 

  • Oversee and collaborate with Art Teams on asset optimization for performance and visual quality.

  • Coordinate with Level Design and Gameplay teams to establish tool, and system pipelines on the Gameplay Side that enforce and respect the performance budgets.

  • Coordinate with the Art Department to plan the production of technical solutions based on artists' requests that will meet the principles of versatility, expandability, ease of use and respect performance budgets.

  • With the help of production, assist in project planning, set clear team objectives, and support technology road mapping. 

  • Onboard and guide development partners in internal tools and pipelines.

  • Bridge communication between adjacent departments, ensuring alignment of technical solutions with project vision.


  • Proven track record in AAA game development, having contributed significantly to at least one complete project cycle, with credited contributions.

  • 5+ years of experience in game development as a Technical Artist or a similar role.

  • Previous experience as a Lead. 

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken. 

  • Exceptional soft skills enabling effective mediation and fostering collaborative decision-making.

  • Good knowledge of modern game production cycles, and methodologies.

  • Strong expertise in modern Game Engines required, with a preference for candidates possessing in-depth knowledge in development with UE5 or UE4 for PC and Consoles, including knowledge of its technical limitations and complexities.

  • Knowledge of modern scripting languages (Python, Blueprints). 

  • Knowledge of C++ for the Unreal Engine API

  • Knowledge of modern art production workflows and its industry standard DCC’s and their scripting languages (At least one of 3DS Max, Maya or Blender).


  • Houdini Experience of any kind

  • PCG knowledge, or if you already made worlds with PCG


  • Working flexibility, you decide how you prefer, from the office, hybrid or remote
