The MEP Design Manager plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of MEP services design for projects, managing both internal and external consultants. They are responsible for ensuring adherence to project schedules, maintaining high-quality technical solutions, and upholding project controls.

Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the MEP design team, providing guidance and direction to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
- Oversee the development and implementation of MEP design strategies, considering project objectives and client requirements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including project managers and engineers, to define project scope, schedules, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with external consultants and contractors to ensure seamless integration and coordination of MEP design activities.
- Monitor project progress, ensuring adherence to established schedules, budgets, quality standards, and technical solutions.
- Conduct regular design reviews to assess compliance with project requirements, industry codes, and standards.
- Implement project controls and monitor their effectiveness, including document control, change management, and risk mitigation.
- Foster strong client relationships through effective communication and proactive management of their expectations.
- Engage with stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to address project-related concerns and ensure alignment.
- Lead interdisciplinary coordination meetings to facilitate collaboration and resolve design conflicts.
- Monitor and manage resource allocation within the MEP design team, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, promoting their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with the BIM team to integrate BIM processes and technologies into the MEP design workflow.
- Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in MEP design and project management.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance design processes, efficiency, and quality.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the MEP design team.
- Prepare regular project status reports, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommended actions.
- Conduct effective performance evaluations for team members, providing constructive feedback and recognizing achievements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Public Health Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive experience (12-15 years) in MEP design and project management.
- Strong technical knowledge of MEP systems, codes, and standards.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to effectively lead a team.
- Membership of a professional institution (MCIBSE, MASHRAE, IEng)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional engineering license or certification (CEng or PE)
- Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in managing MEP design projects in a consulting or construction environment.
