What you will do?
Virtuos Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Senior 3d Artist to be part of our creative team and work on ambitious AAA. This is a full-time position based in our office In Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), which involves working with international clients. 
As a Senior 3D Artist (Environment, Level Art), you will create captivating 3D environments For AAA games. You will be an environmental architect, a visual storyteller, and an experience maker wrapped into one. 
Be it in a level, side mission, or piece of an open-world map, you assemble and position key elements to deliver impactful visual moments and enhance the player experience. Every asset you carefully place, from a building to a prop, tells a story and evokes an atmosphere and a mood. 
Even within a given framework, you can push creative boundaries – and you have the artistic ability to do so. You know how to modify lighting, create basic placeholders, play around with composition, and add just the right amount of detail to develop a game space with plenty of personality. 
The ideal candidate has a strong technical understanding of environment asset and level creation, can communicate with other disciplines within the development team and is able to take creative direction from the Art Director. In the end, he/she could become a reference point and a mentor for other potential-level artists 


Responsibilities:



  • Create 3D models, baking, texture, LOD and import to engine;; 

  • Experience in World Building which include Level Art Set Dressing, in-engine Terrain Sculpting; 

  • Proficiency in Terrain Software (QuadSpinner Gaea, World Machine) would be a plus; 

  • Good eye, able to quickly work on different art styles; 

  • Understand and follow art requirements and specific needs of the project; 

  • Promptly learn any new tools or techniques; 

  • Execute tasks assigned to him according to project schedule while meeting quality expectations; 

  • Address feedbacks from Team leader, Art Director or Client; 

  • Promptly report to Team Leader about any difficulties encountered. 

  • Breaking down environment tasks and create asset briefs 

  • Support the team by exploring and sharing new methods and techniques to achieve the target quality 

  • Maintaining art and design consistency across the game world 



Qualifications

  • Sound knowledge about 3D design, painting, texturing, etc.; 

  • Good command of one of the 3D software – Maya, 3D Max, Zbrush, etc.; 

  • Sound knowledge about Procedural Tools for 3D Art (Houdini, Blender's Geometry Node, Unreal's PCG) is a plus; 

  • Experience working on game engines (Unreal, Unity); 

  • Good understanding and experience of PBR workflows; 

  • Good understanding of shapes, design and composition; 

  • Ability to be proactive and objective in day-to-day problem-solving; 

  • Deep understanding of videogames, passionate about game development; 

  • College/professional degree in Art – related fields – Architecture, Industrial Design, Game & Animation, etc.; 

  • 5+ year experience working in games industry; 

  • Shipped at least 2 AAA game titles  

  • Passion for games and strong game culture; 

  • Ability and desire to work in creative and collaborative teams; 

  • Ability to manage their own time and work within deadlines; 

  • Good communication and English skills. 

  • Excellent documentation, organizational skills;
