Purpose:
The Technical Artist will help fulfill the Great Commission and the vision of Golden Hills Community Church by using his or her technical and creative abilities to the glory of God as a member of the Creative Arts Department. This position will require approximately 40 hours per week.




Leadership Role:
The Technical Artist will empower, train, and encourage tech team members who show an aptitude and willingness for leadership and growth in Christian service.




Responsibilities:




The essential functions include but are not limited to the following:




1. Leadership Development
     a. Engages in cooperative partnerships with other departments and staff to accomplish objectives.
     b. Proves to be a resourceful problem solver who exercises sound judgment.
     c. Views his/her work through the gospel lens, seeing it as an important part of carrying out the church’s theological vision for ministry.
     d. Possesses a responsibility for ministry expressed by a “first in, last out” mentality.
     e. Takes the initiative and demonstrates innovation and creativity in completing tasks.




2. Ministry Development
     a. Provide training for the Creative Arts volunteer team across all age groups who will assist in audio-visual functions
     b. Assist in developing annual measurable goals for the ministry alongside the Director of Creative Arts.




3. Ministry Programs
     a. Manage and coordinate the audio-visual needs for all GHCC events
     b. Maintain responsibility for the purchase, replacement, repair, installation, and utilization of audio-visual equipment
     c. Support other members of the Creative Arts teams in these areas:
          i. creating slides and graphics for Sunday worship, conferences, and other events
          ii. staging design and lighting for all large meeting areas
          iii. creating videos for various events, promotions, training, etc.
          iv. content creation for social media, website, app
          v. live streaming when applicable
          vi. recruitment, training, and scheduling of team members
     d. Collaborate with other ministry departments regarding audio-visual needs for baptisms, weddings, funerals/memorials, and other special events
     e. The Technical Artist shall be responsible for any other duties assigned by a supervisor.




Reporting:
The Technical Artist shall report directly to the Director of Creative Arts.

Education, Experience, and Skills
     a. Education and/or experience (Must have one or more of the following)
         i. Associate degree (A.A. or A.S.) Preferred.
         ii. 1-3 years of related experience and/or training preferred.
         iii. Equivalent combination of education and experience.
     b. Must have a teachable spirit and a willingness to grow as a Christian and technical artist.
     c. Must have an enthusiasm for ministry and a desire to lead people.
     d. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
     e. Ability to write reports and correspondence.
     f. Ability to speak effectively before groups of volunteers.
     g. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
     h. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
         i. Must be confident in using the following programs and operating systems:
         i. ProPresenter 7
         ii. Planning Center Online
         iii. Dante
         iv. Ableton Live, Logic Pro or equivalent
         v. Final Cut Pro or equivalent
         vi. Mac OS
         vii. iPad OS




Physical Requirements:
