This is a full-time position that will require some commute to the San Jose, CA office. The UX/UI Design Manager is a leadership position leading a team of UX/UI designers focused on the design of software for devices that help scientists discover new biology (with a special focus on immunology and oncology). The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem-solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. The companies ongoing design and development work includes both Windows Embedded and desktop applications development, as well as web-based interfaces.
Responsibilities:

Drive the definition of Biosciences design vision and strategy.

Lead a team of UX/UI designers.

Conduct user research, interaction design and visual design as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Collaboratively plans and designs with engineers in an Agile-based environment.

Develops, follows, and communicates design guidelines, patterns, style sheets and libraries to create uniformity within the software engineering organization and brand recognition with our customers.

Qualifications:

BA/BS/BFA degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications), Science (e.g., Molecular biology, Immunology, Chemistry, Physics) or other related fields

At least 5 years of relevant work experience.

Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g., Figma, Zeplin, Balsamiq, Sketch, Figma, Invision, Adobe Creative Suite).

Research experience in persona creation, usability testing, customer journeys. Ability to convey insights in crisp, clear, and actionable ways.

Experience implementing visual design systems across a range of platforms in an iterative software development environment.

Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload and meet critical project deadlines.

Excellent leadership, mentoring, organization, communication, and collaboration skills.

Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Proven customer focus, learning agility and situational awareness.

Desired Qualifications:
