Position Purpose

The UX Designer for Sleepnumber.com will ensure our web experience is engaging and effective. This role requires collaboration with other designers and developers to create user-centered designs that elevate our e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable about current e-commerce trends, passionate about UX/UI design, and eager to expand their skill set. Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills are essential for sharing designs with remote team members. Your designs will help millions improve their lives through better sleep.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work directly with product owners and developers to ensure design is properly applied to the product and on time.
  • Actively seek to understand business requirements to develop solutions.
  • Create visually effective interface designs for existing web products and new products.
  • Apply consistent design patterns from Senior UX Team members and create new patterns for reuse and consistency through design and code with senior or lead input.
  • Collaborate with the Product Team and Senior UX Designer or Lead on project priorities.
  • Ensure working design files are well organized and adhere to guidelines.
  • Conduct user research and usability testing to gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends, tools, and technologies.
  • Advocate for user-centered design principles and best practices within the team.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Position Requirements

  • 3+ years of UI/UX design experience in responsive web design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interaction Design, Digital Design, or relevant.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in UX design process: relevant research (trends, competitor analysis, best practices), creating personas, use cases, user flows, rapid prototyping, wireframing, visually stunning mockups.
  • Expert in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce design
  • Strong understanding of online customer behavior, and interaction patterns
  • Strong understanding of UI design.
  • General understanding of front-end code: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactJS, Bootstrap
  • Ability to delivery assets to developers and maintain file organization.
