Design Manager

We are excited to partner with a prominent building services engineering company with a national footprint and significant contracts across government, health, industrial & commercial projects.

As the Design Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing the successful execution of HVAC, electrical and fire services managing end to end aspects of design from inception to completion. Projects are varied and will include significant commercial/industrial/retail/mixed use/medical/education facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Compliance to Australian codes and standards.


• Team management to ensure resources meet and exceed quality & time expectations.


• Create and manage building services designs across various services (HVAC/Electrical/Fire) to ensure a collaborative approach to desired project outcomes.


• Consulting with clients to discuss their design needs and the effects the design will have on their business including post-handover maintenance and increasing green star energy ratings.


• Manage costs variations and proposals.


• Collaborate with engineering, drafting, accounts, estimating and manage client expectations accordingly.


• Ensure adherence to safe work practices and quality assurance.

About you:

Extensive building services design experience.

Proven experience managing cross functional services teams.

In-depth knowledge of Australian/New Zealand codes and standards.

Project management experience including planning, organising, resource management, budgeting, scheduling etc.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively build relationships and collaborate with diverse stakeholders both internally and externally with clients.
